The Megger MVC1010 AC Current Clamp is a useful attachment that is compatible with selected Megger earth testing instruments. It is used as a voltage transformer and takes non-contact AC current measurements from 1mA to 1000A. Accuracy stands at ≤0.3% at full range with phase shift of 0.7˚ and a best resolution of 1mA.
The Megger MVC1010 has a magnetic Fe-In core in its large clamp and can clamp onto conductors with diameters of up to 52mm. It is suitable for attached rod technique and stakeless testing and it has a 1:1000 step-down ratio across its primary and secondary coils. It is suitable for measuring current across a single phase of an installation and can even measure resistance when used together with the Megger MCC1010 Clamp.
The Megger MVC1010 is rated as Cat IV 600V according to EN61010 and is safe to use thanks to a protective voltage limiting circuit that always keeps touch voltage at safe levels when the clamp is used correctly.
