Extech EX840 Clampmeter with IR Thermometer

An industrial-grade testing device, the EX840 is suitable for use in complex testing environments and gives users a quick and easy way to test various different parameters. When used as a clamp meter the EX840 is capable of fitting around conductors up to 43mm (1.7″) in size, allowing it to take measurements on conductors up to 750MCM or 2 x 500MCM. Once it’s attached the device can then be used to measure AC or DC current across a large range from 0.1 to 1000A with high basic accuracy of ±2.8%.

As well as clamp meter measurements the EX840 also comes with built-in multimeter capabilities and can measure AC/DC voltage from 0.1mV to 1000V, resistance from 0.1 to 40MΩ, capacitance from 0.001nF to 40000μF, frequency from 0.001kHz to 4kHz, type K temperature measurements from -4 to 1400°F (-20 to 760°C) and continuity, inrush and diode testing procedures.

The EX840 also comes with a built-iin IR thermometer which allows this device to measure surface temperatures without the need to make contact with the surface. This includes a laser pointer for exactly defining the surface area to be tested, and when used this mode allows IR temperature measurements between a range of -58 to 518°F (-50 to 270°C).

This product is EN 61010-1 compliant and has CAT III 1000V and CAT IV 600V safety ratings.
