The Megger PAT250 PAT Tester with Bluetooth and Certsuite is a hand-held portable appliance tester which enables fast and simple testing in all environments, whether that be offices, shops, or business units. It is ideally suited for use on training courses by organisations who require a fast turnover and deliver intensive courses. A rubber armoured case and hardened glass makes the PAT250 an extremely strong instrument, with the glass also scratch-proof. Battery powered operation ensures that the PAT250 can be where an electrical supply is not available, or where it would otherwise be inconvenient or unsafe to utilise it, in environments such as warehouses or building sites. The tester conforms to all UK and European requirements for electrical safety testing, ensuring the user is safe while using the instrument.

Cersuite PAT Software

The PAT250 series comes equipped with CertSuite PAT as standard, including a one-year license (subscription required after the first year). CertSuite PAT simplifies the process of recording PAT test results and creating professional-quality test reports. It supports unlimited reports and jobs.

The Megger PAT250 can be used for insulation testing by measuring the separation of conductive parts or conductors from earth. Usually performed at 500V DC, the test is able to be conducted with ease, with the PAT250 able to maintain the necessary test voltage down to 0.5MΩ. The instrument can also perform substitute leakage testing, which enables for the measurements of AC leakage currents, which could differ from DC insulation test results. It is performed at less than 40V ac and does not require a mains supply. It is also used for the measurement of protective conductor currents and touch currents, in addition to an insulation test.

Continuity testing is also available, which is used for measuring the proper bonding of all metal parts in a Class I to the protective conductor. The tests are performed at 200mA DC in both polarities, which complies to UK and international regulations. Portable RCD testing (PRCD) and Differential Leakage (Protective Conductor Current), Touch Current and operational testing is also available, making the PAT250 a must have when it comes to safety testing.

PAT250SX vs PAT250SRX

The PAT250 is able to operate from both AA Alkaline or NiMH cells, with battery life typically four days. Should you opt to purchase the PAT250SRX, you will receive a multi-country AC mains charger, which allows for the PAT250 to be recharged when NiMH batteries are fitted.

Both the PAT250SX and PAT250SRX are supplied with an extensions lead adaptor, a mains plug test lead, a continuity/earth bond lead, a SELV/Mains voltage red test lead, as well as a carry case. The only difference between the two options is the AC mains charger that is supplied with the PAT250SRX, which is the rechargeable option.
